1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Schelling ("Service"), you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you disagree, do not use the Service.
2. User Accounts
You are responsible for your account and all activity under it. You must provide accurate and current information, including a valid email address. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
3. User Conduct
You agree to act lawfully and respectfully towards other users. You must not impersonate others, submit false information, or use the Service for commercial purposes without our consent. You are solely responsible for your safety during any in-person activity arranged through the Service. We recommend meeting in public places and informing someone of your plans.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to operate and improve the Service. You are solely responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable law.
5. Payments
Certain features require payment. All payments are processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your payment card details. All fees are non-refundable unless required by law.
6. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We collect and use your data only as necessary to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal data through your account settings or by contacting us at privacy@schelling.one.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not conduct background checks on users and cannot guarantee the conduct of any user. We are not responsible for any harm arising from in-person meetups arranged through the Service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via the Service. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
